Let's Party With Glitter Powders

Hello lovely crafty friends, my name is Sasha and I am so honoured to be joining the 2022 WOW creative team!! I cant even contain my excitement so I put it into not one, but two glitterrific birthday cards! I love sparkle, the sparklier, the happier so let's sparkle away!

To create the backgrounds for both cards,  I used Catherine Pooler touch of lemon, Marion Emberson punch and Neptune powders to make blob like shapes on my panels. To make these shapes, pick a corner of you paper and dab it with the embossing ink pad. As you reach the edge of your shape, twist your pad a bit to remove the harsh lines. you can find a detailed reel over on the WOW embossing Instagram page  that will hopefully give you a better idea than my waffle.

Using the Confetti Circle stencil, I added embossed dots in the same colours as above then ink blended over the stencil with some black ink. To add interest, I used the  line stamps from the wall art set and made random but scattered lines focusing on filling the white space. I also took some neon pens and created some confetti kind of shapes. Is it really a paartay if there is no glitter and confetti?!

Adding some black shading on the edges maskes such a vast difference right?

To create the disco ball, I scored a holographic cardstock panel both vertically and horizontanly, then I die cut a circle out of that panel. To add a beautiful 3d effect, I cut a out a few of the left over squares and used foam tape to stick them on to the circle die cut in a check pattern.

To finish off the cards, I embossed a Happy birthday sentiment die cut with mermaid tails embossing glitter. This sentiment is perfect to hide the swinging mechanism for the disco ball. I have a qucik reel on my instagram that shows how to make this super quick and easy mechanism.  For the first card I stuck a dancing people cutout (the image is from google) to the disco ball so that when it swings it looks like the people are danicng! Afterall it isnt a party until we swing from the Chandlier! :)

Thank you so much for visiting this post.
